Patricia Belfanti //ConnecTV (212) 966-4510 ext. 226 Patricia Belfanti is credited with co-producing two documentaries for ConnecTV - "On Her Own Terms" with W. Adams and "Exercise for the Disabled" with W. Adams and Carmelita Wiggins, as well as assisting on almost all of the ConnecTV documentaries in various capacities. After many years of performing in theatre, improve troupes and an occasional TV commercial or film, Patricia decided to go back to school for graphic design and simultaneously address her newly diagnosed ADD. After seeking advice through the Learning Disabilities center in NY she was handed a ConnecTV application. Realizing that this was a chance to marry both performing and visual arts, she immediately applied and was accepted to the program. As a result of working in ConnecTV’s supportive and dynamic environment, Patricia’s definition of “disability” changed. She writes: “For me, “disabilities” became like individual characteristics rather than handicaps. I hope that through the stories and programming which we are currently producing, that we can change our viewers’ perceptions through inspiration, entertainment and accurate representation. I hope we’ll be a breath of fresh air for everyone and an invaluable resource as well.” She is currently in production for her piece on ADD who’s working title is: “My Mind’s Been Going Places Without Me Lately” as well as in post production (with Lei Chang) for the video conferencing interviews and news/assistive technology footage recorded in the past 18 months. |
