
PROFESSIONAL TELEVISION YOUTH MEDIA PRODUCTIONS: PRO-TV
Programs offered:PRO-TV works with urban schools and youth organizations and is structured as follows:
Media Fellowship: A two-year intensive stipend-based program for groups of 8-12 students, that includes advanced media arts instruction, international reporting assignments, SAT/REACH/ and college prep. 98% of Media Fellows graduate on time and attend college- many on full academic scholarships.

Go Video/After School Program: A new program that began Spring 2005. Created to serve students who were not able to get into the Media Fellowship or participated in the Summer Intensive program and want to continue their training.

Me-Shops: PRO-TV youth workshop series. Students age 14-21 are invited to attend free weekly workshops at the DCTV facility. Workshops include video-making, Photoshop and Final Cut Pro classes, guest speakers, movie screenings and more. Students are not required to commit to any classes; they can attend as many or as few as they choose. Classes begin in October.

TV High: Semester-based in-and-after school programs providing basic media arts instruction in a classroom setting.
Advance Media: An on-going project-based program designed to offer intense mentoring for continuing guidance, support, and free access to production equipment.
Summer Intensive Program: Students come from throughout New York City’s five boroughs through affiliations with PRO-TV’s existing partner schools/organizations as well as youth who were not able to get into the regular PRO-TV programs. The Summer Intensive provides six-weeks of intensive media arts training where students produce a 3-15 minute collaborative piece. Train fare and lunch are provided. At the conclusion of the program, there is a celebratory screening at DCTV. Works are submitted to various youth film festivals for screening consideration.
