Beyond Bullets NYC Tour Ends

DCTV has completed the Beyond Bullets New York City Tour, visiting seven high schools in five days, but the fight against gun violence is far from over. Last week, hundreds of students in schools in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx watched short youth-produced documentaries about the effects of gun violence and engaged in a dialogue about how to avoid bloodshed in their streets. The tour was a resounding success, garnering attention from the New York Times, El Diario, and the Wall Street Journal.
With the tour completed, DCTV plans to continuing the mission of Beyond Bullets online in the months ahead. This past weekend, five people were killed by gunfire in New York City. This recent violence reinforces the urgency and necessity of continued action. Beyond Bullets will continue to feature stories of gun violence created by our youth reporters through our website, BeyondBulelts.org, and we encourage filmmakers, young and old, to contribute their own stories and solutions.
