Derek Horton wins "Best Documentary" at the 2011 Future of Cinema Film Festival

Hatred to Your Home, a film by Derek Horton (2011 PRO-TV Senior Fellow), was recently selected as "Best Documentary" and "Best of Festival Runner Up" at the 2011 Future of Cinema Film Festival at the Interlochen Arts Academy.

Derek’s film recounts his struggles growing up in East New York faced with muggings, violence and people who discourage his ambitions. He fears that his neighborhood will prevent him from achieving his dreams, but is determined to succeed.

Derek’s prizes include a free iPod touch and a half-tuition scholarship to Interlochen Arts Camp. Congratulations, Derek!
