Call for Applications: Youth Media

Three DCTV Youth Media programs are seeking applicants!

Young men of color residing in NYC, ages 18-24, are welcome to apply to our 6-12 month Young Men of Color pre-professional training program aimed to develop more positive reflections of young men of color. Participants engage in candid conversations about the representation of young men of color in media, receive advanced training in media literacy and video production, and create films.

Young women residing in NYC, ages 18-24, are welcome to apply to our 6-12 month Young Women of Cinema intensive program that provides an advanced level of video production training with an extensive focus on storytelling throughout the production process.

NYC high school students are welcome to apply our 7-month intensive media training program, The Youth Media Fellowship. Students learn the basics of documentary filmmaking, including camera operation, editing skills, interviewing and media literacy. Participating students create documentary, narrative or experimental short films. There are a limited number of slots for students the age of 13. All participants must commit to the full term of the program.
