An Island

In August 2010, French filmmaker Vincent Moon, best known for his Take-Away Shows on La Blogothèque, met up with Danish band Efterklang on an island off of the Danish coast.
The objective was to shoot a film with the same length as an album, and a film full of performances, experiments and collaborations. Over an intense period of 4 days, Efterklang collaborated with more than 200 local musicians, kids and parents, creating new performances and interpretations of songs from their album Magic Chairs (4AD, Rumraket 2010).
The end result is one of beauty -- an unconventional music performance film / abstract documentary about a band, and an island. Music and film lovers take note, you do not want to miss this.
Working with Creative Commons, Moon and Efterklang hoped to create “a free and inspiring distribution method for [the] film,” making us all the more excited to support their venture and host this Official New York Screening.
