The national prison population has quadrupled since 1980 to 2.2 million. As part of our DCTV Presents series, we present Confines That Bind, a strand of events focused on incarceration and criminal justice reform. Showcasing new documentary films followed by discussion, we seek to rethink crime and punishment, and shed light on stories beyond bars.
Confines That Binds is made possible by support from the Manhattan Community Award Program through the Manhattan Borough President, Gale A. Brewer’s, office.
DCTV is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. Art Works, and is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State legislature, and supported in part by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, and by Bloomberg Philanthropies. DCTV PRESENTS is also supported by New York City Council Member Margaret Chin’s Office.
