DCTV, 87 Lafayette Street, NYC

Sorry, this event has now reached its capacity and is SOLD OUT. All RSVP’s are first-come, first-served. Doors open at 7pm.

As the barriers between traditional distribution models blur and the need for quality content across multiple platforms grows, the market for talented storytellers has never been better - it's just a matter of knowing knowing where to look.

IFP, New York Television Festival, and DCTV have partnered to increase awareness among independent filmmakers about opportunities within television and new media and provide access and open doors for filmmakers to development executives across the television and digital landscapes. Join us for a panel and networking event focused on network development - both scripted/narrative and non-scripted/doc - featuring insight from network development executives, agents and filmmakers that have successfully transitioned to TV.

Alrick Brown // Director, Kinyarwanda
Alrick Brown’s collective work has screened in over 50 film festivals worldwide earning numerous awards and honors, among them being the prestigious 2011 Sundance World Cinema Audience Award for his first feature Kinyarwanda. A highly sought consultant and educator on the art of cinematic storytelling, Alrick’s work has been described as cultural archeology because of his vision to unearth and tell stories that otherwise would not be told; stories that often focus on social issues affecting the world at large. He received his MFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where he’s taught both undergraduate and graduate film students.

Colleen Conway // VP of Reality and Alternative Programming, Lifetime Networks
Colleen Conway has been Vice President of Reality and Alternative Programming for Lifetime Television since September of 2010. She currently serves as a network Executive Producer on 7 Days of Sex, My Life is a Lifetime Movie, America’s Most Wanted, Coming Home, Russian Dolls, The Week the Women Went, 24 Hour Catwalk and a couple of fun new series that she can’t talk about yet! She is also currently overseeing a collection of pilots and development projects that will hopefully go on to be entertaining new series for Lifetime. Prior to joining the Lifetime team, Colleen served as a Sr. Director at A&E, where she was the EP on the Emmy Winning series Intervention, The First 48, Dog the Bounty Hunter, I Survived, and Kirsty Alley’s Big Life.

Erin Keating // Dir. of Development & Production, IFC TV
Erin Keating is Director of Development and Production at IFC TV, where she is focused on developing and producing original comedy programming. Erin acts as an executive producer for IFC on the comedy game show Bunk with Kurt Braunohler (Avalon), premiering June 8th, and has been the supervising producer on series including Portlandia with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein (Lorne Michaels, Broadway Video) and the bearding competition show Whisker Wars (Thom Beers, Original Productions). Upcoming projects include the action comedy Bullet in the Face (Just for Laughs/Muse) with Eddie Izzard and Eric Roberts, and the animated comedy Out There (20th Century Fox Animation/Bento Box). Previously, Erin was Director of Programming and Development at Magna Global Entertainment, where she EP'd the award-winning Johnson & Johnson Spotlight series of movies on TNT, including the Emmy-nominated Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story starring Cuba Gooding Jr. She has been a development consultant to BBC America and started her television career at NBC and Comedy Central. She holds a BA from Oberlin College.
