Interested and informed by an array of artistic forms, Kaija has worked in video, sound and performance for the past eight years. Most recently, Kaija has been working as a picture editor in documentary film. In 2015, Hansu Solo, a documentary short mixing live action and animation created with Emily Collins was awarded a student grant from the National Board of Review. This past summer, she joined the Meerkat Media Collective as a new resident. A keen collaborator, Kaija has explored live video mixing in a number of performance contexts throughout Canada while independently experimenting with sound recording and video to create her own work. Currently based in Brooklyn, she is pursuing her MFA in Integrated Media Arts at Hunter College (CUNY).
