We are offering Office Hours either for free or suggested donation, and in-depth Workshops on a sliding scale to be able to support our freelance instructors and cover some of our costs. Audio is often the most overlooked aspect of production, yet it is one of the most important elements of a completed project. Gain confidence in your understanding of audio by learning about audio signal, how to select the right mic for various conditions, set levels, and record sound to cameras and external recorders. Learn the ins and outs of capturing exceptional sound!

This is an online Production workshop at the Fundamentals level.

  • Measuring Sound
  • Analog to Digital
  • Principles of Recording
  • Microphones
  • Inputs, Channels, and Levels
  • Field Mixers and Audio Recorders
  • Recording Set-Ups

Capacity: 15 students | Duration: 4 hrs

Materials: You need a computer or other device that can connect to the internet and support Zoom video conference. If possible, please use headphones for this workshop. If you have a microphone and audio recorder, you are welcome to use it.
