Documentary Theory (Online)

One must look behind in order to look ahead. Deepen your understanding of the documentary craft by gaining a greater context of its evolution. By watching and discussing pivotal work, learn about various pioneers that pushed and shaped the boundaries of the documentary genre into what it is today. See its influence on contemporary filmmakers and how the documentary form continues to evolve to inform your own practice. This workshop has independent readings and screenings.

This is an online Producing clinic that will offer invaluable knowledge from a working professional in a discussion setting.

  • Pioneers and Pivotal Moments
  • Approaches and Ethics

Size: 15 students | Duration: 8 hrs

Required: You will need a computer or other device that can connect to the internet and support Zoom video conferencing, and be able to stream films online outside of scheduled workshop sessions.
