Online Workshop: Unearthing the Media Archives

We are offering Office Hours either for free or suggested donation, and in-depth Workshops on a sliding scale to be able to support our freelance instructors and cover some of our costs. When your story includes a past account or needs more context, you can find useful material and records in cultural, stock, and historical collections. Prepare to embark on the archival research process by getting tips on how to find and license media within local archives, museums, arts organizations, and online databases.

This is an online Producing clinic that will offer invaluable knowledge from a working professional in an online discussion setting.

Topics include:

  • Types of Archives
  • The Process of Archival Research
  • When to Hire an Archival Producer
  • Introduction to Clearances and Licensing Costs

Capacity: 15 students | Duration: 2 hrs

Materials: You will need a computer or other device that can connect to the internet and support Zoom video conferencing.
