Sandra Appiah

After graduation from the Media Fellowship program in 2006, Sandra was accepted to Syracuse University’s School of Public Communications’ Class of ‘09. This summer, she has taken an internship with HBO Documentaries and will be working on a new PRO-TV production. She recalls her time as a Media Fellow: “PRO-TV gave me direction in life by enabling me find my strengths and see what career would suit me best … I have learned through my time at DCTV that no matter who you are or where you come from, you, too, can have a voice in society, and for me, filmmaking is that voice.” She plans to return to her home country of Ghana to start a production company of her own (tentatively named SANAPI Productions), where she will carry on the values of DCTV and share her knowledge and artistic devotion through a training program for under-privileged youth.
