PRO-TV in Schools
Bring PRO-TV to Your School
For over forty years, PRO-TV has taught media literacy, filmmaking and digital storytelling to thousands of young people across the city. With PRO-TV's media arts programs, you can bring our professional teaching artists and time-tested curriculum directly to your students!
Our programs are low-cost, hands-on, and fully customizable in length and thematic focus. Whether you want to focus on documentary research, production and editing; screenwriting and narrative filmmaking; media literacy; visual storytelling; new media, or all of the above, we can develop a program that meets your unique interests and goals.
Our curriculum is aligned to NYS Learning Standards for the Arts, NYS Common Core Learning Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy and the NYS Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Moving Image, allowing us the flexibility to offer our workshops during the school day or after-school for 6th-12th grade students. All classes emphasize project-based learning, and include planning time and a final screening of student work.
DCTV is an NYC Department of Education arts education vendor. Our service costs are dependent on the length of program, number of students served, and equipment required. We recognize that budget cuts have made it challenging for schools to provide arts education and training to students, and we are committed to working with you to create a program that fits within your budgetary and programmatic needs.
